St. Vincent provides round-the-clock care for youth who require therapeutic services to deal with moderate, severe, or intensive emotional disturbance, behavior disorders or mental health diagnoses. Photography Project instructor Lois Ingrum trained a multi-generational group of 10-15 students, staff, volunteers, and teachers in digital photography and guided them as they photographed their home. Since the teens' identities had to be protected and they could not photograph each other, they focused on St.Vincent's beautiful 1914 building and 20 acres of grounds.
Participants explored 160 years worth of rich history over 9 weeks of training--the spacious, well groomed grounds, the memorial walk, meditative chapel, grotto fountain, and the main building. The main building's attic in particular was a treasure trove for the budding photographers, and revealed clues showing how many people have been helped by St. Vincent's services over the years.
